The Start of A Journey

So for some crazy reason I've decided to take 21 flights, travel 25 thousand miles, and do it all in the next thirty days. Why have I decided to embark on such a journey? Quick back story...

For the last several months, I had contemplated making a career change. The industry and role I am in just isn't a great fit. It's not not something I am passionate about nor can I see doing long term. One day browsing on the net, I came across a fantastic deal from JetBlue, 30 days of unlimited flights for $499. This was such an amazing opportunity and considered it just the impetus I needed to decide to leave my job later this year and fly more than twenty five thousand miles.

A quick thank you to my Dad and the entire team at BenefitSpecialists for allowing me to take thirty days out of the office to take this journey.

The purpose of this trip is three fold:

1. Take some amazing pictures. Some of you know I've recently started a photography business Priceless Perspectives and this is a fantastic opportunity to build my portfolio. Keep an eye on this blog for pictures / video of the places I visit.

2. Discover my passion. Since I've decided to make a career change, it's important I figure out exactly what to do now. One of the reasons for the change was to find something I'm passionate where I can leverage my skills to make a difference. I've got some books to read and exercises to do that will hopefully help me figure this out.

3. Have a great time. I love traveling, seeing amazing places, eating unique food, and experiencing the culture of different people. When else I am going to be able to hit so many places in such a short period of time.

If you decide to follow this blog and by extension my journey; I hope you find it interesting. I hope to update the blog everyday and if you have any questions / comments / suggestions please comment below or email me at chris@pricelessperspectives.com

FYI, this trip does have a theme song which is my alarm ring tone for the next 30 days. Yes it's a cliche but I thought very appropriate for the trip; plus it has a killer guitar riff.
